THE GRACIE INITIATIVE
Gracies Story
Gracie was a beautiful, sweet and energetic Shiloh Shepherd puppy. She was a golden sable with big brown eyes who loved belly rubs and playing with the big dogs. There were three adult Shilohs to play with and she was very active. She had a favorite spot in the family room where she would often go to rest in the middle of a play session. Gracie's life was full of love from her pack and her people. One morning when she was only 8 months old, Gracie did not wake up. Gracie died in her sleep from German
Shepherd Dog Inherited Ventricular Arrhythmia - GSDIVA.

In an effort to provide meaning to the loss of Gracie, her owner started the Gracie Initiative. The Gracie Initiative is an undertaking to promote
education and awareness about GSDIVA in the hopes that we can all play our part in eradicating this disease. The initiative has already met with resounding success, prompting owners and breeders alike to test their precious pups for the condition. This has resulted in a life saving diagnosis and medication for those few affected and priceless peace of mind for the families of healthy pups.
